5. Friendship of Nations Arch

It was opened in 1982 under the USSR to celebrate the 1,500th Anniversary of the Kiev city. The design has stood the test of time and if you can get in there on your own you’ll have an incredible Kiev Instagram shot.

Better known as the Kiev Monastery of the Caves it is an Orthodox Christian monastery. The name surrounding district comes from the monastery.
