The 7 Most Instagrammable Spots In El Salvador

The smallest country in Central America, El Salvador is known for its Pacific Ocean beaches, fantastic surf spots and mountainous landscape.

The villages are filled with pretty flowers, coffee plantations exist beside volcanoes and the national parks are dense and green. What more could you want? While you’re travelling through here, make sure to check out these places and capture a great El Salvador Instagram photo.

1. Ilopango Lake

This massive lake is actually a volcanic crater that is now an excellent place for diving, skiing, sailing, kayaking, swimming and windsurfing. Any sort of water sport you feel like doing, you’ll find it here.

The lake is calm and the blue waters are just stunning.

6. Playa El Esteron

Playa El Esteron is one of the best “secret beaches” in El Salvador; it’s still relatively off-the-grid and untouched.

There’s not much to do apart from swim in the warm waters and look for sea turtles, or sip cocktails on the beach. And that’s what makes it so perfect.
