Monaco is a tiny independent city-state on France’s Mediterranean coastline known for its upscale casinos, yacht-lined harbour and prestigious Grand Prix motor race.

1. Superyachts in the harbour

Monaco’s Port Hercule is one of the greatest superyacht marinas of the world. This is where the rich and famous stars of the world will moor their boats.

Port Hercule is also lined with restaurants and bars creating a vibrant atmosphere. The boutiques, casinos, and Michelin-starred restaurants of Monte Carlo are only a short stroll away.

2. Tête de Chien

This panoramic trail takes you from the center of the town of Cap d’Ail to the hills above, with views of the Mediterranean sea.

On a clear day, this is a gorgeous spot to take a Monaco Instagram photo, especially if you can spot some yachts in the water below.

3. The Prince’s Palace

The Prince’s Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the Sovereign Prince of Monaco. Built in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, it’s a beautiful building that’s partly opened to the public for tours.

4. Japanese Garden

This green oasis is a rich mix of Japanese tradition and Mediterranean touches and is a beautifully peaceful place to take a Monaco Instagram pic or two.

You’ll be able to discover all the essential components of a Japanese garden: a pond, islands, a waterfall, lanterns, bridges, a tea house and a Zen garden.

5. Café de Paris

You can’t visit Monaco without a visit to the famous Café de Paris brasserie, right beside Place du Casino.

The gorgeous Parisian-style terrace is the best place in town on a sunny day. Order a bottle of bubbles and enjoy the vibes.

6. Monte Carlo Casino

Let’s face it, you can’t come to Monaco without rolling the dice in this famous casino complex. It was built in 1893 by Charles Garnier, the architect of the Paris Opera House and is a piece of art.

Located dramatically on the side of a cliff, this marine museum is home to a shark lagoon and turtle island. Make your way to the rooftop terrace for sweeping views of Monaco and the Med.
