By day this seems like a normal street, but at night it’s wedged full of 1000s of tourists spilling out of bars. Add in street hawkers, insanely loud music and you have one of the most intense streets you’ll ever come across.

3. The Vintage Emporium

The perfect spot in the city to come and get Western-style brunch treats. Great food, perfect coffees and food so colourful that it would be a shame not to photograph it.

4. Notre Dame Cathedral

This cathedral located in the downtown area of Ho Chi Minh City is currently closed to the public, but is still one of the most popular spots for an iconic Instagram shot from the outside.

5. Independence Palace

This stunning building has been converted into a museum that perfectly captures the troubled recent history of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh city in particular. Visit the bunkers, the ornate state receptions rooms and see tanks and helicopters up close.

7. The Pink Church (Nha tho Tan Dinh)

A short drive from the city centre but a must-visit for any Instagram aficionado. It’s been here since the 1870s and is often repainted to maintain its vivid pink hue. You’ll find more info here.
