Louisiana features a multicultural, multilingual history; it’s known as the birthplace of Jazz and where the greatest Mardi Gras celebrations take place. New Orleans’ French Quarter is incredibly pretty, while the swamplands are a fun outdoor boat trip.

1. French Quarter – New Orleans

Often called the Crown Jewel of New Orleans, the French Quarter is one of NOLA’s most historic neighbourhoods.

It’s the historic heart of the city, famous for its vibrant nightlife and colourful buildings with cast-iron balconies.

2. Lake Martin

Hike through this natural swampland preserve and stroll out on the boardwalk – keep an eye out for the lake’s colony of alligators!

3. The Garden District – New Orleans

Drive, walk or bike through the neighbourhoods of the Crescent City –while the Garden District is particularly pretty, every neighbourhood is a living architectural museum.

6. Downtown Baton Rouge

Downtown Baton Rouge is a great place to wander through, with a lovely riverfront area, historic neighbourhoods and numerous restaurants. Lots of cute photo opportunities.

The St. Louis Cathedral is one of New Orleans’ most stunning landmarks. It is the oldest Catholic cathedral in continual use in the United States.
