Pont Croi in Finistère came second and Terre-de-Haut in Guadeloupe came third.

Millions of viewers tuned in to vote for Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue  as their favourite village

This beauty beat out the so many other villages – 14 of them in fact. Looks like Provence has some serious competition when it comes to beautiful hamlets.

We can see why this beauty took first place… There’s an oyster farming centre, botanical gardens with scenic blooms and historic watchtowers.

The traditional Norman boats in the harbour and winding, narrow streets make this a charming place to spend a night our two.

Walking along the harbour in Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue is now on our to-do list. Wine and cheese – and oysters! – compulsory.
