The 7 Best Burgers In São Paulo

The best burgers in São Paulo are not only they tastiest in the city, they’re some of the best burgers in all of Brazil.

From the huge and monstrous burgers packed with toppings; places cooking up simple patties right through to fine dining restaurants with their gourmet take on this American snack, we’ve come up with a list that has something for everybody.

Drooling yet? You will be by the end of this.

Best Burgers in São Paulo

1. Holy Burger

You’ll probably not see better looking burgers no matter where you travel in the world. The fact that they taste delicious is the big bonus.

They are usually loaded with cheese and served up with super house cocktails. Everything you could want for a night out with good friends.

2. Vinil Burger

They opened in 2012 and have been taking the city by storm since then with their fresh, tasty and stacked burgers.

Their concept is unique in that you can choose your toppings but the price will always be the same. Simple and utterly delectable. What more could you ask for?

3. Z Deli Sandwich Shop

This traditional Jewish deli has been a go-to spot in the Jardins neighbourhood since the 1980s. As well as huge, overstuffed sandwiches on homebaked bread, their burgers are amazing.

Choose from authentic and juicy Brasilian hamburgers or try the lamb version.

4. Meats

Meats is a gourmet burger and milkshake restaurant that brings things to another level with their creative and extravagant toppings.

Toppings include burger, cheddar, bacon and the famous shrimp bobó or grated foie gras – a really indulgent treat. Wash it all down with a delightfully boozy milkshake that’s spiked with Jack Daniel’s.

5. St. Louis Burger Shop

St. Louis Burger Shop has been cooking up thick, juicy patties for more than 10 years in Sao Paulo. Like the name suggests, it’s a US-style burger joint that keeps things simple, but delicious.

Their blue cheese and rocket burger is a must-order.

6. Burger Joint New York

Burger Joint is a famously ‘hidden’ burger shop in NYC, and has since expanded to several other cities across the world. Write down how you want you burger on a piece of paper and wait for the juicy hamburger to arrive in front of you.

Order the Lazy Boy: Colby & Cheddar Cheeses, lettuce, tomato, purple onion, pickles and house mayonnaise, rib bacon and Dijon mustard. *drools*

7. Bullguer

If you love the American diner-style smashed burger then Bullguer will be your new beef heaven. They cook all the burgers to order, with 100% Black Angus beef for fantastic flavour.

Think Shake Shack, Sao Paulo style.

This is far from the best 7 in Sao Paulo. The burgers from Underdog, Guarita, Patties and Pão Com Carne should be on this list. Bullger is just ok. St. Louis and Holy are good, maybe an OK on steroids. Meats is good too, but is a “overreacted” burger, they put too much stuff on it, sometimes you can’t taste the burger, just sauces and other crap. Vinil and Z Deli are truly amazing, a must go.

Guarita is TRASH! Small and with mediocre taste.

This ones could be on the list too: • Buzina (stick it with the plain cheeseburger – maybe adding some bacon – and forget their “inventions”) • All in (must go!) • Sliders (they pay a hommage to White Castle, as Patties – quoted above from another user – does for McDonald’s) • Lanchonete da Cidade • Tradi Hamburgueria And a special mention to the classics (I don’t think they deserve to be on this list, but this guys are making beautiful burgers for decades in Sao Paulo): • A Chapa (since 1967) • Burdog (since 1968) • Hamburguinho (since… Read more »

These 3 below are NOT worth trying. Are u kidding me? They’re just famous for being around for a long time, but they are reaaally a 4 at best. • Burdog (since 1968) • Hamburguinho (since 1974) • Chico Hamburger (since 1963) But Seu Oswaldo i must agree on you, is a must. Also Pao com Carne, Underdog, Tradi are a 10. You must have in mind that the traveller won’t be able to eat more than 10 burger in one trip. So just recommend the BEST of the BEST. And i would say those are: Pao com Carne Frank… Read more »
