The 7 Best Burgers In St. Petersburg, Florida

The best burgers in St Petersburg, Florida offer a range of craft burgers and beer to boot. Many offer other options as well to suit everyone.

No matter if you prefer a veggie burger, beef burger or other burger options, these are the restaurants to start your search.

Best burgers in St Petersburg

1. The Avenue Eat+Drink

This industrial-style burger outfit is often bustling with people. Its patio is popular and the full-service bar turns out killer cocktails, though the beer selection if very good too. The menu includes tons of unique and creative takes on burgers, so it may take a while to make your decision, but it won’t be wrong no matter what.

The DTSP, which is a classic cheeseburger with peppered bacon and bacon-onion jam, is always a hit.

2. The Burg Bar&Grill

This hole-in-the-wall burger grill and full-service bar includes great drinks and amazing sides like house-made chips and fries. The Burg Gyro Feta Burger is definitely the way to go. It’s topped with gyro meat, tazhiki sauce and a slice of feta cheese to create a perfectly tangy and salty burger.

If you’re feta-crazy, the feta fries are a must too.

3. Engine No. 9

This burger joint might take a little longer to get your food to you, but the quality is worth the wait. There’s tons of craft beer to choose from, so the wait really doesn’t seem long with a good brew in hand. Try the Resurrection for a taste sensation that checks all the boxes: sweet, spicy, crispy and creamy.

4. The Chattaway

It’s really a glimpse into Old World Florida at this 1930s haunt. There’s tons of outdoor seating and the restaurant really feels like a family affair. The menu covers a lot of ground but includes gluten-free buns and two vegetarian and vegan options. Whatever you order, get the lobster chowder instead of fries for an indulgent side.

5. The Hanger Restaurant&Flight Lounge

Watch planes land and take off from the patio at this restaurant. The Hanger serves a wide menu of American favourites for both breakfast and lunch. The house burger comes with rich brie cheese melted on top, and opt for the hanger chips.

6. Brick&Mortar

Brick&Mortar is actually a kitchen and wine bar with a varied menu of small plates and entrées. This is a great pick to suit a range of appetites, and the house burger is great. It features aged white cheddar and bacon-onion jam, but make the house-cut fries parmesan truffle fries for a little more decadence.

7. The Cider Press Café

Vegans, rejoice. This café is entirely vegan. Though the menu conquers much more than burgers, the burger section of the menu offers several solid options. Order the Jammin’ Burger topped with vegan bacon-tomato jam, arugula, and more.

Really? Ted Peter’s! El Cap! Both have been at the top of the burger place in St. Pete for over 50 yrs!

There’s a reason El Cap isn’t on this list. It’s because they are overrated and the only people who think they are good are the ones who have been going to it for 40+ years of their existence. Try some other restaurants, ones that don’t charge you extra for lettuce on your tiny little burger, and you will see for yourself.
