I have eaten at a few of the places on this list and by far JD’s Smokehouse in Rutherford College NC deserves to be on this list near the top. It’s the best in my opinion anyway!

I would definitely leave the Barbecue Center in Lexington off the list. Their sauce is very sweet and just not up to the standard of the other Lexington establishments. I would definitely would replace with the Lexington Barbecue restaurant right on US64/BUS I-85. Mr. Monk does it right.

He’s BBQ is not on this list, so I would have to dispute the validatity of this list.
