Best Chicken Wings In TasmaniaHow do these rankings work?

1. Ruckus Fried Chicken – New Town

As the name suggests, this New Town joint is all about fried chicken. They go the extra mile here though with local chicken and produce from local markets. The menu is simple: pick a cut of chicken (drumsticks, thigh or wings – duh!). Then choose your coating (including chipotle or hot), add on sides and then lash a sauce of your liking on top. The creamy gorgonzola one is divine.

2. The Winston – North Hobart

The Winston bar is a funky craft beer bar that also has incredible bites to eat. Take your pick from classic Buffalo, Nashville hot, Southern or their famously spicy Atomic wings. They’re not for the faint hearted… But, with 12 taps rotating daily, (four of them brewed just down the road), you can wash the wings down nicely.

3. Mr Good Guy – Hobart

Well known for their incredible South Asian food and a menu that highlights local ingredients, Mr Good Guy is also home to some of the best chicken wings in Tasmania. You can sit back and order a banquet ($45-55 per person) of small plates to be brought out to the table, or just dive right in with an order of the crispy wings with a sticky honey soy glaze.

Stop by The Brick Factory for fun vibes, live music every weekend, a bar full of Tasmanian brews and delicious food, too. There’s lots to tempt you on the menu (the Kilpatrick oysters with bacon are great to share), but be sure to order some wings. They’re crispy and fried with an aioli and Sriracha sauce for dipping.
