7 Syrian Dishes You Have To Try

Syrian dishes are mainly focused around the ‘mezze’ concept, of small dishes that are perfect to share amongst family and friends. Like other Middle Eastern cuisines, the food in Syria includes hummus, stuffed vine leaves and flaky, sweet baklava for dessert. Key ingredients include garlic, meat (mostly from lamb and sheep), rice, chickpeas, fava beans, lentils, cabbage, cauliflower, vine leaves, olive oil, lemon juice, mint, pistachios, honey and fruits.

Syrian cuisine is becoming increasingly well known around the world, and so it should! There’s a huge tradition of culture and history behind every dish. For a taste of these delicious flavours, consider making some recipes at home.

We’re sharing some of the best classic regional dishes. These recipes aren’t just any recipes either, as they have been created by the world’s top food bloggers. The best of the best. Make sure check out the other great dishes on their sites too.
