Fig doesn’t look like your standard burger joint, and that’s because it’s so much more – Fig is a beautiful courtyard restaurant in the heart of the Diocletian Palace. Alongside a tasty and vibrant menu of local ingredients, the burger really stands out.
It’s a perfectly juicy beef patty that comes topped with slaw, pickled onion, bacon, local cheese, garlic mayo, and homemade tangy BBQ sauce. Yum!
2. Toto’s Burger Bar
How do we even begin to describe how good the burgers are here? Juicy, flavoursome and addictively tasty is a decent place to start, anyway. With a cute location right on the coast and excellent value, Toto’s Burger Bar is popular for good reason. They have a varied burger menu to choose from, with vegan and veggie options if you’re not feeling like a 100% Croatian beef burger feast.
3. Bosso Steak & Burger House
Calling all carnivores: Bosso Steak & Burger House is the place to come for some of the best burgers in Split. The burgers here come with all sorts of delicious toppings, from melted cheddar cheese that spills out over the to fried egg or crispy bacon. With thick beef patties dripping jus and soft sesame buns, these guys tick all the boxes.
4. MISTO Street Food Factory
We named Misto as on our list of the best sandwiches in Europe for 2019, but the folk also serve an incredible burger. This chef-driven tiny restaurant makes up for its small space with a mighty menu. Taking Dalmatian dishes and putting a street food spin on them, the black charcoal bun burger is stuffed with local beef, fresh veggies and cheese. Add on an order of roast baby potatoes with rosemary for a real treat.
5. Pub Plan B
Craft beers and burgers go together hand in hand, right? So you’ll be thrilled to know that Plan B are experts at both. Take your pick from a menu of eight different burgers, with the option to double up on meat or opt for three mini sliders instead of one big burger. Toppings include a veggie burger with fried cheese or a spicy beef burger with chili sauce, pancetta, pepperoni and caramelised onion.
6. Papa’s True American Bar
Papa’s boasts an American-inspired menu of tasty snacks, cocktails and beers in a superb beachside location. Biting into one of these delicious burgers looking out at the sea is a real treat. There’s two signature styles of burger here… One is made using prime American beef and another style that’s made with 100% local Croatian beef and is seasoned with some spices for a little kick.
