Best Kebabs in New YorkHow do these rankings work?

1. Zyara

Founded by Khaleel Kateeb, this Middle Eastern restaurant has quickly become a local area staple for those looking for the best kebabs in America. They have an amazing range of Middle Eastern dishes, but their falafel and shawarma are the stars of the show.

2. Souvlaki GR – Midtown

A little taste of Mykonos in the heart of New York City. From the moment you step through our doors, we want you to feel like you have been transported to the island of Mykonos. The white wash walls, cobblestone streets and flowers will charm you year round as you sit at our outdoor taverna.

Their souvlaki is the stuff of dreams and the perfect meal to eat on the go. What takes it to another level are the french fries stuffed into the middle. Who doesn’t love double carbs!

3. Taci’s Beyti – Brooklyn

They’ve been serving up great Turkish food in their current location for the last 22 years. Judging by the amount of happy returning customers coming back on a regular basis, they are seriously good at what they do!

The kebabs are classic in style, with marinated meats cooked over charcoals to add maximum flavour. What really takes them to another level are the delicious sauces.

4. The Kati Roll Company – Greenwich Village

The Kati Roll Company have taken New York by storm and are expanding at a rapid rate. They even now have an outlet across the ocean in London.

They marinate and grill all of their fillings in-house, with a blend of up to 30 hand-ground spices and flavours. All their meats are certified halal and the chicken is antibiotic and hormone free. They are also a great option for veggies, with some terrific original wraps and dishes without meat.

5. ILILI – 5th Avenue

This is a high-end Turkish restaurant in the Flatiron area of New York. As soon as you set foot inside the plush interiors and are greeted by a warm smile, you know this will be special.

Lots of great meats on the menu but to get the best of all worlds, the mixed grill is a great bet. You’ll want a serious appetite to finish this one off!

6. Ravagh Persian Grill – Upper East Side

A family-owned business that opened their first restaurant in 1998. They say that the secret to their success is sourcing the very best ingredients and it shows in the end product.

The meat is perfectly charred on the outside and as tender as you could ever imagine on the inside. Served with classic sides and sauces, you will be in heaven when you taste it.

7. Istanbul Kebab House

A proper old school kebab house where they serve huge portions of meat in an informal setting. Blink and you could walk past the place but that would be a huge mistake. Most who eat here are regulars and it isn’t hard to see why.

You can have the kebab with rice or even better is to wrap it up in their utterly delicious and soft wraps with all the toppings added.
