7 Romantic Things to do in Miami With Your Special Someone

Each year Miami reels in nearly 25 million visitors looking to indulge in the vibrant nightlife, delightful food scene, rich local culture and breathtaking beaches. No matter what category you fall into, there are plenty of romantic things to do with your special someone. Whether you’re an outdoorsy pair, are more into culture or are all about the food, we’ve got you covered. Here are seven romantic things to do in Miami with your sweetheart.

7 of the Most Romantic Things to do in Miami

1. Take a walk on the beach

Cliche? Yes. Overrated? Absolutely not. Miami is home to miles and miles of pristine white sand beaches perfect for strolling mano y mano with your special someone. Seize the day and get up early to catch a sunrise; then you’ve got the whole day ahead of you both. Or enjoy a leisurely walk in the evening and watch as the sun slips beneath the horizon.

2. Stroll the Botanical Garden

It’s no secret that Miami is famous for its stunning beaches and tropical paradise vibes. However, the crystal clear waters and powdery beaches aren’t the only things it has going for it. Miami is also home to state of the art botanical gardens perfect for exploring together on a sunny afternoon. Head to Fairchild, an 83-acre oasis loaded with countless palm tree varieties, a rainbow of different flowers and an abundance of local wildlife.

3. Explore the Coral Castle

Feel like whisking your lover away to Europe without ever leaving Miami? Spend the day exploring Coral Castle. This breathtaking sculpture garden was crafted by Edward Leedskalnin, a Latvian immigrant who carved the monument from no less than 1,100 tons of coral rock. While it’s not a castle in the traditional sense, it is a fascinating attraction and was actually built in the name of love. Legend has it the grounds are dedicated to Leedskalnin’s lost love.

4. Dance the night away

Miami is home to an incredible Latin-dance scene. Thanks to its vibrant Latin American community, there is no shortage of dance bars where you and your special someone can salsa the night away. Don’t know how? Consider taking a short lesson together at one of the countless dance clubs. It’s a win-win either way. We recommend Liquid Silver Salsa.

5. Visit Villa Vizcaya

Is there anything more romantic than exploring a centuries-old Italian villa complete with stunning gardens, priceless antiques and more charm than you can imagine? At Villa Vizcaya, you and your lovebird can enjoy all that and more. Originally constructed in 1910 to model a classic 18th-century style villa right out of Tuscany, you can take tours which focus on the history and gardens of the site. Be sure to check their performance schedule as they occasionally have small concerts on the grounds that would add to the atmospheric charm.

6. Enjoy a romantic waterfront dinner

Miami is no doubt home to the best food scene in Florida – and that extends to its waterfront restaurants. Why not impress your significant other with an evening of delicious food and drinks right on the warm shores of Miami? Whether you’re after a swanky, sophisticated restaurant or are looking for something more laid back, there are plenty of options. Our personal favourite is Amara at Paraiso; it’s got incredible food in addition to a soft, romantic atmosphere perfect for celebrating your love.

7. Take a cooking class at the Biltmore

What is more a labour of love than handmade pasta, sushi or hors d’oeuvres for your special someone? At the Biltmore, the two of you can learn how to make culinary classics together while also having an incredible date night experience. A little rusty? Don’t worry. They offer a huge variety of classics for all skill levels. Be sure to check out their Date Night specials which focus on romantic meals. Best part? You get to enjoy the meal afterwards so it’s a twofer!
