The Fluffy Soufflé Pancakes

Daily Drool #15: Fluffy Soufflé Pancakes

It seems these days that food trends explode onto Instagram from a single source and then spread quickly around the world. Soufflé Pancakes are the perfect example of this.

People’s social feeds are lighting up with these fluffy treats in all shapes and sizes – leaving others wondering where they can get them? Well, we’re here to fill you in.

These Soufflé Pancakes are light, fluffy and look utterly droolworthy…

You’ll find them in Miss Cheese Tea Cafe, a cafe in Pasadena, Los Angeles, which has tapped into the global demand for these jiggly pancakes.

The pancakes have been wildly popular in Japan and Hong Kong (where we first spotted them!). Now, foodies around the world are going mad to get their very own Soufflé Pancakes.

Luckily for all you greedy guts out there, foodie entrepreneurs in local markets have spotted the opportunity and are quickly whipping up their own versions.

The secret? They use whipped egg whites in the batter to make the pancakes puff up and seem even lighter than air. No matter what they taste like you have to agree that this dish was tailor made for Instagram…

They come with a range of toppings – from healthy berries and fruit to the more luxurious chocolate versions…

As with the rest of our Daily Drool series, we get that you might not be able to travel and get them right now. Fear not though, because you can make your own version at home with this great recipe…

We just aren’t going to be able to look at regular boring old pancakes in the same way ever again. Not fluffy? We don’t want ’em.
