2. Pico Duarte

Pico Duarte is the highest peak in the Dominican Republic, and all the Caribbean islands. You can reach the summit in two or three-day excursions where you camp overnight along the way with a guide.

3. 27 Waterfalls

The insane group of 27 (!) waterfalls and plunge pools at Damajagua will be one of the most memorable experiences you’ll have in DR.

You’ll need a guide to show you around the different falls, for obvious safety reasons. Jump into the cool water from heights of 8 metres. Most tours will bring you to the seventh, 12th or 27th waterfalls.

4. Samaná Peninsula

A scenic spot for surfing, whale watching and hiking, this peaceful shore is a secluded piece of paradise.

2,500 humpback whales visit Samaná Bay every year, so your chances of seeing this majestic creature are high.

5. Cayo Levantado

The small, picturesque island of Cayo Levantado sits just five km from Samaná Bay, and has brilliant white sand and palm-fringed beaches.
