Anyone who spends a lot of time in the sky has probably looked into joining a Frequent Flyer program before. Those air miles! The possibility of an upgrade! We want it all.
So, the news that WalletHub has released their list of the Best US Frequent Flyer Programs for 2019 is good news indeed.
Their survey ranks the 10 largest domestic American airlines based on 23 key metrics – from miles earned per $100 spent to blackout date restrictions and other membership perks, such as free baggage or complimentary upgrades.
The WalletHub tool is pretty handy – the site even has an interactive calculator where travellers can enter their travel budget to find the best frequent flyer option for them.

So, what makes Delta’s SkyMiles program stand out from the rest?
You miles can be redeemed for free air travel on any participating airline or cashed in for cabin upgrades, unique experiences (such as concert tickets) or items for sale at the SkyMiles Marketplace.
If you work your way up to Diamond Medallion status – the highest membership level of Delta’s SkyMiles program, you’ll earn 11 miles per dollar spent, as well as having lounge access and free cabin upgrades.
FYI, Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways are the only two major airlines whose miles do not expire because of inactivity.
