Samoa, in Polynesia, is a postcard of natural beauty consisting of ten islands.
There’s reef-bordered beaches and rugged rainforests with gorges and waterfalls and a 3000 year-old friendly way of life called Fa’a Samoa.
You can’t leave here without taking some Samoa Instagram photos. Want to know where to go? These are the best places.
1. To Sua Ocean Trench
This giant swimming hole on Upolu has leafy rock walls falling about 20 metres to the bright blue waters below.
Climb down the ladder, or – only at high tide – jump in with a splash. The most magical swimming pool in the world.

2. Alofaaga Blowholes
These impressive blowholes in the village of Taga on south-west Savaii propel a roaring jet of water hundreds of feet up into the air.
Bonus points if you’re here when locals throw coconuts into them and they shoot into the air.

3. Lupesina Treesort
A luxury tree house resort that’s way better than any you ever built as a child. Located on the main island of Upolu in Samoa, this is a unique place to spend the night.
The tree branches wrap through the rooms, and the shower has a serious jungle vibe.

4. Lalomanu Beach
Lalomanu Beach on the southeastern tip of Upolu is one of Samoa’s most pristine beaches.
You can swim in the crystal waters with endangered sea turtles, and hike through an ancient volcanic crater. But with the beach itself this pretty, why leave?

5. Piula Cave Pools
These freshwater pools are a cool oasis from the heat and a picturesque setting for a Samoa Instagram.
The pools are beneath the historic Methodist Chapel, and the very brave can swim through a 3m underwater passage.

6. Saleaula Lava Fields
A very cool experience – walking through a black lava field. An eruption in 1905 buried five villages in lava.
Half buried churches and lava mounds can still be found as you walk over this fascinating geological area.

Have a swim and stand under the falling water at this impressive waterfall, or get a great shot from a vantage point high above.
The clear water is perfect for taking some fun GoPro underwater shots.
