The beautiful capital of India’s Rajasthan state, Jaipur Instagram photos are some of the prettiest shots you’ll take in India.
It is known as the ‘Pink City’, for its pale terracotta buildings. This was originally done to impress the visiting Prince Albert during his 1876 tour of India by order of the Maharaja (Sawai Ram Singh), and even today it’s illegal to paint buildings any other colour.
It’s a historically royal city and you can still visit palaces from throughout the ages – the former royal family still live in the City Palace.
Once you’ve wandered through the hectic streets and markets, you’ll want to seek out even more Jaipur Instagram moments. From a hidden Monkey Temple to the best sunset spot you’ll ever see, these are the best places for taking photos in Jaipur…
Instagrammable spots in Jaipur
How do these rankings work?
1. Panna Meena Ka Kund
Chances are you’ve seen this appear on your Instagram at least once or twice. Built in the 16th century as a way of collecting the monsoon rains, this geometric step well is just a 10-15 minute walk from Amer Fort, so hit up both in the one day.

2. Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal, also known as “Palace of Breeze”, was built in 1799 as an extension to the Royal City Palace of Jaipur. At the time, it allowed the royal ladies to be able to watch any processions and activities on the street without being seen by the public.
Head up to Wind View Cafe across the road for the best view of the palace.

3. City Palace
This magnificent complex of courtyards, gardens and buildings is one of the city’s most photogenic locations. It’s here that you’ll see the most colourful and decorative doors and pillars, as well as maze-like walkways.
It opens at 9.30am, so come early to try beat the crowds.

With wandering peacocks and mango trees outside and major interior goals inside, it’s a simply stunning setting for a Jaipur Instagram snap.

5. Jawahar Circle Garden
This is another Jaipur Instagram location that’s trending on social media thanks to its pastel-coloured entrance. It’s actually the entrance to a circular park which has a rose garden. It can get pretty busy here with people taking photos, so keep that in mind.

6. Monkey Temple
Hanuman Ji Temple is a temple dedicated to the Hindu monkey god Hanuman and is a must-visit spot in Jaipur. Take a tuk-tuk 10km out of the city and trek up the hill path, making sure to then follow the path all the way down the other side until you reach the sacred seven pools of water.

Thanks for the informative post, everything is well described. Last month I have visited Jaipur with the consult of my travel partner Travel Rajputana, such a good experience I have. When I was reading this I remembered each and everything clearly.
Jaipur is the best spot to see in Rajasthan. I loved lots of forts and old palaces there. I always loved living in this city. I miss this city very badly.
