7 Dominican Dishes You Have To Try

Dominican dishes are similar to those found in the nearby islands of Puerto Rico and Cuba, but with dishes unique to the Dominican Republic. DR has unique cultures of African, Taino, and European, with the food here also taking influence from the Middle East, Asia, and the Mediterranean.

There’s delicious deep-fried plantains, flavoursome Caribbean rice dishes, hearty meat and root vegetable stews and the famous ‘mangú‘: a opular dish consisting of mashed plantains, with a side of fried eggs, fried salami, and fried cheese, known as “los tres golpes” or the three hits. The good thing about the food in Dominican Republic is that you can easily recreate some of these dishes at home.

We’re sharing some of the best classic regional dishes. These recipes aren’t just any recipes either, as they have been created by the world’s top food bloggers. The best of the best. Make sure to check out the other great dishes on their sites too.
