Looking for the most Instagrammable hotel in West London? We’ve found it for you – The Royal Lancaster London hotel has marble floors and insane views of Hyde Park.
Following an £85 million renovation, Royal Lancaster London has been transformed into a super stylish hotel that is fit for royalty. We checked it out on a recent visit to London and the entire experience was fabulous.
Located right next to Hyde Park, the hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the city, although you’ll hardly want to leave the hotel once you’ve checked in.
Impressive upon first sight, smartly dressed doormen whizz you through the revolving doors and into the lobby. It features a sweeping staircase made of 300 square meters of white Carrara marble that wraps around to the first floor.
You’ll fall in love with this hotel as soon as you see the majestic lobby
Gold honeycomb lighting is featured throughout the hotel. It’s a nod to the fact that Royal Lancaster London has its very own beehives on site, and you can taste their Royal honey at breakfast.
How beautiful is this?
I made my way up to my room (there’s 411 brand new rooms and suites), and couldn’t believe the view. The entire Hyde Park was a riot of autumn colours and you can see the London Eye and The Shard.
The rooms are stylish, with a large seating area, working desk and luxurious marble bathroom. You also get a smartphone to use during your stay, with free international calls and data. Seriously handy.
The bathroom was our favourite part – a huge bathtub with toiletries from The White Company and fluffy robes to put on after a soak in the tub. Glass of wine in hand, what better way is there to spend an evening in London?
Room categories start with the Classic Double Room at 20 square meters, from £219 per night.
Timeless rooms and luxurious suites…
Food lovers are will be in heaven here, with five different areas to eat and drink. Champagne, cocktails, coffee and light cuisine are available throughout the day at the elegant Hyde Bar.
You can also eat at Nipa Thai, a hidden gem in the heart of London where you’ll find incredible authentic Thai food. Crispy soft-shell crab with spicy mango is our top pick from the menu. After dinner, stop by the cosy Park Lounge bar for a cocktail sipped by the open fire.
The lovely Park Restaurant has floor to ceiling views of Hyde Park and the Italian Gardens is where we ate a sumptuous breakfast.
Soft, flakey croissants, smoked salmon, poached eggs and fresh fruit will start your day off just right.

As for the ‘Royal’ element? Royal Lancaster London has an iconic history. Michael Caine filmed here for ‘The Italian Job’, and Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and countless other royals have attended events. The hotel also hosted the after-party for The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine film premiere, which The Beatles’ attended.
Obsessed.
