Nicaragua is a super fun country set between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It’s known for its scenic lakes, volcanoes and beaches, as well as pretty colonial Spanish architecture.
Planning a trip here? You won’t be disappointed. We’ve rounded up the most Instagrammable spots for you to visit too, so you’ll get that perfect Nicaragua Instagram photo.
1. Masaya Market
The local craft markets in the town of Masaya are a great day out. Expect colourful stalls selling souvenirs and artisan goods. While the main tourist market, El Mercado Viejo Craft Market, has a bad reputation for being overpriced, it’s a great Nicaragua Instagram shot.

4. Cerro Negro
Central America’s youngest volcano, Cerro Negro is an absolutely breathtaking sight. A 360 degree panoramic view at the top makes the steep hike worthwhile.
The best bit? Thrill seekers can “volcano-board” on wooden boards down to the base of the volcano. Insane, but brilliant.
