These are the festivals that are worth turning into a holiday. If it’s on the festival bucket list you might not just travel to another country, but indeed half way around the world.

1. Glastonbury – Planton

Glastonbury Festival is one of the world’s most famous music and performing arts festivals. Every year around 175,000 people flock to this country farm to spend the weekend listening to the biggest names in music.

What began as a small, local event on a family farm in 1970 is now the largest green space open air festival in the world. Tickets famously fly out quickly, but the BBC streams most of the main stage sets for live TV.  But honestly? You should do everything you can to get your hands on a ticket.

2. Parklife – Manchester

In a city that is famous around the world for music, they’ve managed to create a brilliant festival that is packed every single year.

It’s big enough to have the huge acts, but also close to the city with an intimate feel to ensure it doesn’t feel too big. If the sun is shining in Manchester in June, a day at Park Life is one of the best UK music festivals in 2020.

3. Isle of Wight Festival – Isle of Wight

The award-winning Isle of Wight Festival is famous for mixing iconic legendary artists with the hottest up and coming acts. With an amazing atmosphere around and a friendly vibe, it’s easy to see why it’s been so popular since the 1960s.

Multiple stages, classic festival atmosphere and you’re by the seaside! It doesn’t get better than that.

4. Creamfields – Daresbury

This global music festival series began in England at Cream nightclub in Liverpool. Creamfields is now the biggest dance music festival in the UK.

Previous headliners include deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Cirez D & Adam Beyer, The Chemical Brothers, Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox and Tiësto. There’s also a spectacular performance element, with lighting and pyrotechnics.

5. Download Festival – Derbyshire

This whopper five day rock event is a must-experience for any rock fan.

The festival attracts icons of to its main stage, plus some of the best and hottest new acts in the world. AC/DC, KISS, Metallica, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Linkin Park and many more have all headlined its main stage.

6. TRNSMT Festival – Glasgow

Previous years have seen the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead, The Killers, Stormzy, Queen & Adam Lambert and George Ezra play at this popular city centre festival. It’s the replacement for T in the Park, and has grown into an essential summer experience.

There’s three great days of music in store for people lucky enough to attend this.

7. Leeds Festival

The sibling to Reading festival, Leeds Festival is home to artists from across the globe during the August Bank Holiday weekend. Expect a mix of rock, indie, hip hop and pop performers. Artists on 2019’s bill included Foo Fighters, The 1975, Post Malone, Twenty One Pilots, Bastille, Mura Masa, Royal Blood, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals.
