Australia Heart Reef

Australia’s Famous Heart Reef is Reopening to Visitors After Decades

One of the most beautiful aerial shots in Australia is this heart-shaped island in the Great Barrier Reef, but until now the closest you could get to Heart Reef was a helicopter flyover. Now, the island is opening to visitors for the first time in decades.

The newly opened Heart Island offers a unique, James Bond experience starting with a 30 minute helicopter flight over Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet and the heart-shaped reef itself. Once you have landed on the private Heart Island pontoon helipad, you have 90 minutes to explore the lagoon, or simply relax and enjoy the sea breeze.

The Famous Island in Heart Reef in the Great Barrier Reef is Finally Reopening

This exclusive tour is available to just six guests per visit. It includes a once-in-a-lifetime boat ride around the famous reef.

Dive in for a swim around the reef and explore above and below water. You can also swim inside the pontoon, which features as a shallow undercover pool. Of course, such an exclusive trip doesn’t come cheap…  It costs AU$1,100 per person, and advanced bookings are recommended.
