Are You Brave Enough To Try This ‘Cliff Camping’ Experience?

If the thoughts of sleeping on the edge of a cliff suspended 500ft above the ground makes you shudder, stop reading now. This cliff camping experience is pretty terrifying stuff. If you do have a head for heights, then read on: you can spend the night on a ledge that’s anchored to the side of a cliff in Cumbria, England.

The unique experience is by adventure company Honister, which is also the last working slate mine in England. To get to your cliff bed, you have to abseil down the side of the crag. You will also have to cross a high-wire bridge known as ‘The Infinity Bridge’.

The Cliff Camping Experience is not for the Fainthearted!

You will have to wear a harness at all times, even when sleeping… You don’t want to roll off the porta-ledge! Enjoy a Cumbrian food hamper to keep the midnight munchies away and hang out watching one of the most impressive sunrises in the world.

If you don’t fancy sleeping under the stars in the hanging tent ledge, you can opt to just hang out on the cliff for a few hours instead. Honister offers afternoon tea packages on the ledge.

Do you dare? You can see more information on the company website here.
