Denver is the most populous city in the state of Colorado. Denver — The Mile High City — gets its nickname because of its elevation. Denver sits exactly 5,280 feet (1.6km) or one mile above sea level. An outdoorsy city, Denver is famous for its art, culture, food, music and outdoor sports. Denver is located roughly 30 miles north of Boulder, a city in northern Colorado at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Boulder is even higher than Denver. It is at an elevation of 5,430 feet or 1,655 meters above sea level. Today, more than 31 million people visit Denver annually, and almost 3.3 million visit Boulder. Visitors often make the journey between both cities. So, if you’d like to do the same, there are four ways to get from Boulder to Denver.
How to get from Boulder to Denver
Shuttle
One of the most convenient ways to get from Boulder to Denver is to take the  SuperShuttle or Green Ride shuttle service.
Green Ride is a sustainable company working to offset greenhouse gases. The journey time from Boulder to Denver airport is one hour. If you take a shuttle from the airport, you will usually be dropped off at your hotel, which is very handy if you have a lot of luggage or are travelling very early or late at night.
Bus
Travelling from the two places along the public bus route is another relaxing mode of transport as you don’t have to worry about driving the unfamiliar roads; you simply get to sit back, relax, and take in the sighs from the large windows. The price is also another draw – this is one of the cheapest ways to travel from Boulder to Denver. The  RTD bus service departs from Downtown Boulder and drops you off at Union Station in Denver. The trip takes one hour.
If you are looking for a train between the two cities, there is none. However, a train goes to the University of Colorado, but this is to the Denver campus, not the Boulder campus.
Car
The most convenient way to get to Boulder is by car. There are many car hire firms around Boulder, but finding the best deal is the first step. Taking the car means leaving whenever you like and making pit stops and detours along the way.
Getting between the two cities by car is very straightforward. The most direct route from Denver to Boulder is via U.S. Hwy 36, which connects to I-25. This trip can take between forty minutes and one hour depending on traffic conditions.
However, before any road trip in this part of America, please check the weather conditions before setting off on your journey. This is especially important if you’re travelling during the winter as the roads can get pretty icy pretty quickly.
Ride Share
For an even more convenient option than driving yourself or taking a shuttle, consider using a ride-sharing app like Lyft or Uber. This is the most expensive way to get between the two cities, but you don’t have to drive, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the views, and you don’t have to share the vehicle with strangers, unlike a shuttle.
