Best Oregon Golf Courses
1. Pacific Dunes – Bandon Dunes
At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you’ll find six distinctly different courses built on a beautiful stretch of sand dunes perched 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean.
Every hole, every hazard, every shot is defined by nature’s infinite presence. Quite simply one of the most stunning places you will ever play golf. As the elements change, so does the game. It’s all part of the tradition of links golf. Lies are tight and conditions are lean.
2. Crosswater Golf Course
Situated on 600 magnificently scenic acres of woodlands and carefully preserved wetlands, Crosswater is threaded by the gently flowing Deschutes and Little Deschutes Rivers. In fact, depending on tee selection the rivers can come into play as often as seven times in a round.
The design is traditional heathland style, and the golf course features five tee placements for each hole as well as bent grass fairways and greens.
3. Aspen Lakes Golf Course
Aspen Lakes is a privately owned, public golf course. The concept for the course began in 1987, when the Cyrus family acquired a 1,084 acre parcel adjacent to their family farm.
The bunkers feature distinctive red sand (although you will want to avoid a closer look!) and the course is always in perfect condition. Add in the beautiful scenery, and this will be a round you remember for quite some time.
4. Heron Lakes – Blue
Whether you’re a seasoned player, a weekend warrior, a junior or a beginner, Heron Lakes has something for you.
The 36-hole golf facility is situated in North Portland (just 8 miles from downtown) and offers a convenient location for golfers. Over the years they have hosted a series of prestigious events including The Northwest Open. A tough challenge, but one that is immensely enjoyable.
5. Langdon Farms Golf Club
Langdon Farms is a premiere golf course and event venue located just 15 miles south of downtown Portland.
Their mission is to be the best conditioned public golf course in the four county area and they deliver on that promise big time. The only thing better than the golf itself, are the entertainment and dining options after a round. The venue is also perfect for events and conferences.
6. The Reserve Vineyard & Golf Club
The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club opened for play in 1997 and immediately distinguished itself as the region’s premiere golf destination.
The venue boasts two courses with enough juice in the layouts to challenge some of the game’s greatest players. Indeed, the course has even hosted PGA Tour events in the past.
The centrepiece is the club house, which sits majestically on the lake and is the perfect place for relaxing.
7. Eugene Country Club
Established in 1899, Eugene Country Club is rich in history and tradition. The course is a private, member owned club and maintains a non-profit status. The offer 36 holes and full service dining options which are ideal after a tough round.
The courses are a challenge, but play true and will test you and your partners on every hole. Easily one of the best Oregon golf courses.
