1. Puerto Rico

2. Canada

Okay, so US citizens will have to put in a little bit of effort in order to visit Canada without a passport, but it’s worth it. First, you’ll need to travel by land, and second, you’ll need either a passport card or NEXUS, a trusted traveler program. Take your pick from snowboarding in Whistler or bar hopping in Toronto.

3. Guam

It’s beach weather year-round on the Pacific Ocean island of Guam, a U.S. territory since 1950, where there are only two seasons: dry (December through June) and rainy (July through November).  Explore 4,000 years of intriguing history — ranging from pre-colonial culture and archaeological sites and the site where Magellan’s ships landed, to Spanish forts and WWII battle sites.

7. Northern Mariana Islands

The Northern Mariana Islands are an easy reach northeast of Guam. The Northern Marianas consists of 15 islands in total, but the most popular are Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

Once you’re on the islands of this U.S. commonwealth, the only difficult decision you’ll have to make is whether to sunbathe on a beautiful beach, try your luck at a casino, play golf with dazzling views of the Philippine Sea or go scuba diving in a World War II shipwreck.
