1. Patagonia, Argentina

It’s one of the many regions in the world that’s shared by two countries, which can get confusing at times. Patagonia, however, is more part of Argentina than it is Chile. In fact, it’s basically 90% in Argentina.

2. Natal, Brazil 

Natal is the capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte. This means it’s a city thriving with a rich history and cultural delights. Just a short drive south of the city you’ll find one of the country’s prettiest beaches.

The city’s position on Colombia’s Caribbean coast makes it a tropical paradise that’s actually inside a 16th-century fortress. You won’t want to leave this charming spot.

4. Chiloe, Chile

Chiloe island is the second biggest island in South America. There’s rich scenery and colourful houses on stilts above the water. There’s also colourful wooden churches, 16 of which have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Take one of the many trekking routes or hop in a kayak to explore the sea channels of this magical place. It’s clear to see why it’s one of the best islands in the world.

5. Quito, Ecuador 

The wonderful country of Ecuador is famous for being home to the Amazon jungle, Andean highlands and Galápagos Island. Y’know, where those amazing turtles live!

6. Suriname

Suriname is a small country on the northeastern coast of South America. It’s known for its tropical rainforest, Dutch buildings and a melting-pot culture. You can explore to your heart’s content here.

7. Paraguay 

Paraguay is a landlocked country between Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia. Geography aside, it has breathtaking rainforests, waterfalls and natural attractions.
