If the idea of a chocolate factory conjures up drool worthy memories of Willy Wonka, then take note that if you visit Birmingham you’ll be able to visit the real thing at Cadbury World.
The popular attraction welcomes over 750,000 people every year, so if you’re thinking of heading we have all the tips and tricks for you below…
1. What’s so special about Cadbury World?
Basically, it’s a magical chocolate wonderland for children and adults alike. Explore how their chocolate is made from scratch, watch a 4D chocolate adventure and relive some of the best Cadbury advertising memories from over the decades.
You can even have a go at making chocolate yourself with a private masterclass.
2. How do I get there?
By Car:Â It’s about 20 minutes drive from Birmingham city centre. There are a number of motorways that then feed into the M5 – you’ll see signs from there to Bournville.
By train:Â It’s a 15 minute leisurely stroll from nearby Bournville Station.
By plane.: Birmingham International Airport is the closest. You can then transfer to train or a taxi will take 20-30 minutes.

4. How long will it take?
The main exhibition tour lasts around 90 minutes, as you are brought on a chocolate journey that start in the Aztec Jungle.
Most visitors tend to spend between 3-4 hours on the site, as there’s lots of other things to explore – including the world’s biggest Cadbury shop and a Cadbury cafe with chocolately treats.

5. When is the best time to go?
Cadbury World’s opening hours change on a regular basis, based on the UK summer and school holidays. A good guideline is the following…
- Monday – Friday – 10am – 3pm
- Saturday – Sunday – 9.30am – 4pm
