From niche museums to art museums and all kinds of fun neighborhoods, there are a lot of ways to enjoy time in Washington, D.C. You might even be surprised by how much there is to do there.

Friday Afternoon

Check into the Mason&Rook in downtown D.C. upon arrival. The lovely boutique hotel provides a wonderful stay in the heart of town for easy access to everything. After freshening up, head out for a walk around the beautiful city. It’s a wonderful way to stretch you legs and get moving after long hours of travel while also enjoying the capital. Make your way to Chinatown for a wonderful dinner and drinks out afterward.

Saturday

Take an early breakfast at the hotel before hitting the National Mall. Many of the best museums in DC are just off from the Mall and are a great way to spend the better part of the day. Some of the newer museums worth visiting such as the National Museum of African American History and Culture as well as the National Museum of Women in the Arts are good choices too.

Catch dinner at one of the most popular restaurants in town: Le Diplomate. The charming French bistro fills up quickly, so make a reservation or go early. Grab a nightcap at The Daney, another DC favourite, afterward before turning in.

Sunday Morning

Rise early again for your last morning in the United States capital. Watch the sunrise from the Lincoln Memorial or go for a walk, jog or city bike ride among the many impressive monuments. Return to the hotel for a shower and breakfast. Then pack up, check out and depart from a wonderful weekend in DC.
