1. The Old Town Hall

This Renaissance building with its baroque tower is a main feature of the Market Place. It dates back to 1556 and now serves as an interesting Museum of City History.

2. Wildpark

This native animal park was once a deer enclosure in 1904, but was destroyed in WW2. Since 1979, it has been rebuilt to a fun, family friendly park with over 25 different native animals. Have fun snapping moose, bison, foxes, whitetail and red deer.

3. St. Thomas Church

One of the most famous Lutheran churches is St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. The church is open daily from 9am to 6pm and you can also take tours of the bell tower in spring and summer months.

Fun fact: it’s the church where Bach was Kappellmeister (music director) for the last 27 years of his life.

4. Congress Center Leipzig

You’ll hardly believe that you took these pictures in Leipzig – the views are incredible. From the restaurant on the 29th floor (the highest restaurant in Central Germany), you can soak up the views with a cocktail in hand.

6. Monument to the Battle of the Nations

Leipzig’s most famous landmark is located close to Napoleon’s former command post in the battlefield. It’s a stoic monument to the death and victory of the Battle of the Nations in 1813.
