Best Things to Eat in Los AngelesHow do these rankings work?
1. PIzza at Gjelina
Some of the very best cooking in the city full stop. While the menu is diverse, packed full of treats and utterly compelling we urge you to go with the pizza. The ingredients they source, along with their skilful handling is what makes this place so special. A remarkable pizza.
2. Burgers at Burgers Never Say Die
BNSD’s fandom is intense, but oh-so deserved. The legendary pop up recently opened up a permanent spot in Silver Lake where the long lines for these smashed beauties show no sign of slowing down. The top tip to remember? Always. Get. Two. When something is this good, one is never enough.
3. Ice Cream at Saffron & Rose Ice Cream
This is Persian-style ice cream with the recipes first brought to the USA in the 1920s by founder Ali Kashani – Rafye.
Stunning freshness, inventiveness and an all-round superb product that has to be tasted to be believed.
4. Sushi at Noshi Sushi
The best sushi in downtown LA is actually in Koreatown. Noshi Sushi has been serving Los Angeles residents since 1983 and is famous for how rich, buttery, and plump their rolls here are. This spot is cash only, so remember to bring bills. Because it’s not too expensive, however, you’re not going to break the bank.
5. Ramen at Okiboru
Located in Chinatown, you’ll find that the ramen at Okiboru is pretty superior to other ramen spots in Los Angeles. Critics think so too, which is why it was listed as one of the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants in 2019. They couldn’t get enough fo the tsukemen-style ramen.
6. Mixed Meat Platter at Max City BBQ
If you love BBQ then you are going to fall in love with this place the second you walk in the door. You’ll find all the classics like brisket, sausage and slow cooked chicken, as well as sides that are off the charts.
Add in a lovely selection of craft beers, and this is a place you won’t want to leave in a hurry.
7. Kebabs at Sunnin Lebanese Cafe
With outlets in Westwood and Santa Monica they are well known as one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in LA.
The serve up everything from healthy salads for the health conscious to dishes loaded with toppings for those after a cheat meal. What sets them apart is the marination of their meat and their subtle balance of flavours with the toppings.
Once you taste one of their kebabs you will be hooked for life.
