Best Ribs In Los AngelesHow do these rankings work?
1. Bludso’s BBQ
Texas native Kevin Bludso sure knows how to serve mouthwatering ribs. The La Brea location is a hotspot amongst barbecue loves in the City of Angels, and while their Texas Sampler comes with an impressive pile of ribs, sausage links and brisket, we suggest starting off with just a full rack of pork ribs. They’re doused in sweet barbecue sauce that’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before.
2. Baby Blues BBQ
The square-cut ribs at Baby Blues BBQ practically fall off the bone. They’re rubbed top to bottom with a proprietary blend of dry spices. Then, they’re slow-smoked and grilled before the lightly baste them with their house BBQ sauce. Yep, if it sounds tasty it’s because it really, really is. Order the long-bone pork Memphis-style ribs here and prepare to head to foodie heaven.
3. The Park’s Finest
This spot ranked No. 1 on our list of the city’s best Filipino restaurants, and for a good reason. The Park’s Finest is home to the city’s best Filipino BBQ, which is something of a staple if you’re visiting Los Angeles. Sauce drips from the pork ribs here, and it’s flavourful enough to leave you dreaming about it way long after you’ve licked the last drop off your messy fingers.
4. Gus’s BBQ
Okay, we know that to locals we might be cheating just a bit with this one. Gus’s is in South Pasadena, which isn’t technically Los Angeles. But, hey, it’s still Los Angeles County. And, it’s been a local BBQ staple for over 70 years, so it deserves a spot on any Los Angeles ribs list. You’ll find the ribs here to be of the St. Louis variety, meaning they’re cut a bit meatier than others and packed full of flavour.
5. Horse Thief BBQ
From moist brisket to tender ribs, there’s not much that Horse Thief BBQ dishes out that isn’t absolutely irresistible. This hotspot is another Texas-style BBQ institution which means you can indulge in some low-and-slow cooking. Order the pork ribs and savour every bite of the juicy, tender goodness. Still hungry? Definitely sample the brisket, which is smoked for 15 hours over oak wood.
6. Max City BBQ
Max City BBQ offers it all, including some of the absolute best ribs in Los Angeles. This trendy Eagle Rock eatery is small but mighty, serving up world-class BBQ on top of an impressive drink menu; craft beers and wine flow freely here. Order Spence’s Platter of Pork, which comes with baby back ribs, St. Louis-style ribs, pulled pork, and two sides. There’s no way you’re leaving here hungry.
7. Boneyard Bistro
Boneyard Bistro serves more than just BBQ and tasty ribs. But, we won’t deny that their ribs are one of the tastiest things on their menu. The hand-rubbed, hickory-smoked pork ribs perfectly balance out smoky, juicy flavours without ever feeling too overpowering. And, they offer lots of choices. You can order each of their rib plates wet, dry, or chipotle-glazed.
