North Carolina has the highest mountain peaks in the eastern U.S., 300 miles of shoreline, vineyards and valleys and the beautiful cities of Raleigh and Charlotte. Add in the state’s booming music scene and outstanding food and you’ve got a real showstopper.

1. Pisgah National Forest

2. Pullen Park – Raleigh

At 66 acres, this was the first public park in North Carolina. It’s the perfect oasis right on the doorstep of the busy city.
