1. Pisgah National Forest

The Pisgah National Forest is a pretty landscape of mile-high peaks, cascading waterfalls, and heavily forested slopes.

2. Pullen Park – Raleigh

At 66 acres, this was the first public park in North Carolina. It’s the perfect oasis right on the doorstep of the busy city.

3. Outer Banks

This is the place where the English first tried to settle in the New World and is stunningly beautiful. The beaches are not over crowded and are beyond pretty.

4. Cape Lookout National Seashore

A boat ride three miles off-shore brings you to the barrier islands of Cape Lookout National Seashore.  Horse watching, shelling, fishing, birding, camping, lighthouse climbing, and touring historic villages–there’s something for everyone at Cape Lookout.

5. The Raleigh Rose Garden

A beautifully looked after and kept public garden. The look and feel of it changes with the seasons, so it’s always a seriously Instagrammable spot.

6. NoDa Murals – Charlotte
