These salmon and avocado tacos are one of the easiest – yet tastiest – dishes you will ever prepare in your life. Not only do they taste amazing, they look fantastic and are full of vibrant colours.
As with all our recipes , you’ll need just 7 ingredients. This dish is super simple to prepare, even for the least inexperienced chef.
These tacos are the perfect treat if you want something light, fast and full of flavour. An absolute taste sensation.
Salmon & Avocado Tacos: Ingredients
- Soft tortillas
- Avocado
- Fresh salmon
- Red onion
- Mint
- Sour cream (or yoghurt)
- Limes
Dice the salmon into small pieces. The smaller the better. Also slice the onions and peel the avocado.
Add the onions to the salmon mix.
Squeeze in the lime juice. This is similar to a ceviche-style of prep, and will effectively “cook” the salmon for you. Season with salt and pepper and allow to stand for 10 minutes, stirring on occasion.
Slice the avocado as fine as you can. For the dish to be a success you need perfectly ripe avocados (never an easy task to find one, but it’s worth it!).
Smear the sour cream onto the soft tortillas. Depending on the type and quality of the tortilla you are using, you are using you may need to warm it slightly. You can do this diectly in a pan for a couple of seconds or even in the microwave.
Add the sliced avocados and a little twist of a salt.
Next, add the salmon mix. The beauty of the colours is also a real show-stopper.
Finish the tacos by adding a few fresh mint leaves to garnish. This gives them a lovely fresh flavour. You can either eat the salmon and avocado tacos open, or wrap them up into bite sized rolls.
