This Teamlab Japanese Art Installation

This Japanese Art Installation Is The Coolest Thing You’ll See This Year

Japan has endless fascinating attractions, but one absolute must-see in 2019 is an art installation at Hiroshima Castle, opening in February.

The famous digital art collective teamLab — which has massively popular installations in Tokyo, Paris, and Singapore – will bring a new installation to Hiroshima Castle.

The iconic 1589 landmark was destroyed in the WWII nuclear attack and rebuilt in the 1950s. It’s also one of the most photographed sites in Japan. And now thanks to this project, it’s only getting more popular.

The concept behind the project is that non-material digital technology can turn a city into art without physically altering it.

The castle will turn into a giant interactive art space with human-sized glowing ‘eggs’, which change colour when touched.
