Still haven’t booked your summer vaycay? Well, this might just be the excuse you need – the new Waldorf Astoria Maldives resort has just opened on July 1st, and it is outrageously slick.
Make your way to the South Malé Atoll, where Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi now calls home. The luxury all-villa resort spans across three islands and your glamorous trip starts as soon as you step onto the resort’s private yacht to reach the islands.
They’re really stepping it up a notch with the accommodation here. Each reef, beach and overwater villa opens onto an indoor and outdoor deck featuring a swinging daybed, dining gazebo, an infinity pool, in-water lounge and an outdoor shower.
There’s also a private island with a two-bedroom overwater villa as well as a three-bedroom beach villa
Ideal if you really want to live it up. The 32,000-square-foot island sanctuary – accessible by yacht – comes complete with a dedicated chef and personal concierge team, as well as its own spa, gym, five swimming pools, cinema and beaches.
We repeat: you’ll have your very own spa and FIVE swimming pools on the private island.

Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi has 11 different places to eat, including a an elevated treetop-dining restaurant with ocean views. There’s also the choice of Peking duck from a wood-fired oven or authentic Middle Eastern grub.
On a fitness buzz? Glow will serve healthy and holistic cuisine made from the freshest ingredients harvested from the resort’s herb garden.
As well as beautiful rooms and views, the resort has plenty of activities for both couples and families. There’s 10 overwater or garden treatment rooms at the spa, a fully-equipped fitness center; and a combined water sport and PADI dive center.
