Where is The Manta Resort?
Manta Resort is in the far north-west of Pemba – a peaceful island, just north of Zanzibar. Lush and tropical, this is one for the true adventurers.
The main rooms in the resort are on the island itself, with white sandy beaches and a sparkling pool. Fresh seafood and zesty cocktails are served at the sun lounge all day long.
What’s so special about this hotel?
Three words: underwater floating room. The underwater room at the Manta Resort is incredibly unique, with three levels to explore. A boat drops you off at the room’s landing deck, where your living area is.
A ladder leads up to the roof which has a lounging area – for sun worshipping by day and stargazing at night.
You’re left with a kayak, snorkel and fins to explore the clear blue waters.
Climb down below, and you’ll find the underwater bedroom.
Brightly coloured fish swim past the 360degree glass windows that surround the kingsize bed.
How much does it cost to stay?
The underwater room costs $ 1 700 /double room per night, which includes sundowners on the terrace and meals delivered to your floating room.
