Brussels is a gorgeous city that sits at the centre of Europe and is indeed the home to the European Union. More excitingly from a tourist’s perspective the city is full of the best beer, chocolate and “frites” (french fries) in the world.

1. Grand-Place
Right in the heart of Brussels, the majestic Grand Place square is one of the most photogenic in Europe.
The most recognisable building on the square is the Hôtel de Ville (Town Hall), built in 1402.

2. The Brussels Atomium
Step inside a 335-foot-tall giant iron crystal that was created for Brussel’s World Fair in 1958.
The Atomium has 9 spheres representing atoms which are connected by tubes with escalators and lifts.

3. Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert
Europe’s oldest shopping arcade, the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert was built in 1847.
Still just as beautiful, you can browse numerous jewellers, chocolate shops, exclusive boutiques, restaurants and bars and you’ll also find a small theatre and cinema.

4. Pannehuis Metro Station
The Pannenhuis Metro Station is one of the metro stations on line 6 of the Brussels Metro.
Its futuristic lights make it look more like a spaceship than a metro station, and you’re guaranteed to get some seriously slick pics.

5. Palais de Justice
Le Palais de Justice (The Palace of Justice) is one of the largest and most impressive buildings in the whole of Europe. In fact, it’s still the most important court building in Belgium.
The interior is even more impressive than the opulent building itself.

6. Bois de la Cambre
This lush forest park has lawns, playgrounds, a ‘pocket’ theatre, a roller-skating rink and an island on an artificial lake.
Top tip? Get the €1 ferry to the chalet across the lake for an ice cream.

7. Parc du Cinquantenaire
A lovely green space in the east of the city, Parc du Cinquantenaire is home to some of Brussel’s top museums.
