Visiting Fenway Park: Things You Need To Know

1. What’s so special about Fenway Park?

Dating back more than a century, Fenway Park is the oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. It was built by Red Sox owner at the time John Taylor. The park was supposedly named Fenway because of its location in the Fenway neighbourhood, which was built decades earlier over the marshland or “fens”.

The first official game at Fenway was played on April 20, 1912. Known for its lone red seat in the right-field bleachers (Section 42, Row 37, Seat 21) it signifies the longest home run ever hit at Fenway.

The one-hour walking tour of Fenway Park is a great opportunity to learn about the rich history and the community ties it has to the city of Boston.
