With its wide variety of nighttime venues, Liverpool is one of the UK’s top nightlife destinations. One of the best things about a night out in Liverpool is that many of the most popular places are conveniently located in the town centre and within walking distance of each other. So, no night buses or expensive taxis to take to get around. Looking for cheap drinks, friendly locals, and a great vibe in Merseyside? Here are some of the best places to go in Liverpool for nightlife.
7 Best Places to go in Liverpool for Nightlife
1. Baltic Triangle
For the best selection of cool, trendy bars, head to the Baltic Triangle, where you’ll also find underground clubs where you can dance the night away. This is the creative quarter of Liverpool which buzzes with outdoor bars and cool pop-up restaurants.
2. Concert Square
Concert Square is one of our favourite places to start a night out. It is the heart of Liverpool’s party scene. You’ll find a heated outdoor terrace with plenty of seating across several bars and plenty of pubs that wrap around the square. Pubs and venues range in style and vibe from rowdy Irish sports bars to cheap tequila bars.
3. Royal Albert Dock
The Royal Albert Dock is historically important and visually beautiful. It also has some of the best nightlife in Liverpool, offering a little bit of everything. There are late-night cafes, pubs, theatres, bars, comedy clubs, and more. Our perfect night at Albert Dock would involve dinner at one of the many restaurants, followed by a show at Comedy Central, and a few drinks dockside at a pub before finishing off the night with a dance in one of the bars. This area has it all, and, combined with stunning views, you can see why it is so popular and why people spend their whole night here. Why would you want to leave?
4. Seel Street
Seel Street pulsates with the promise of a great night. You’ll find everything here, from chic clubs to a speakeasy absinthe bar. It’s a proper party street where you can spend all day and all night hopping from one bar or pub to another. Kazimier Gardens is particularly popular, especially during summer. If you are looking for a casual venue that offers it all – a one-stop shop if you will – head to the Arts Club. This bar at the centre of Seel Street is a basement venue offering food, drinks, and music.
5. Hanover Street
This is one of Liverpool’s main thoroughfares. On it, you’ll find a great selection of restaurants and bars. This is a great place to start a night out in The Pool. Some of our favourite places include the Wahaca rooftop bar for cocktails with views and the Roxy Ball Room, which has boozy games to play, like beer pong.
6. Mathew Street
On Mathew Street, you’ll find the iconic Cavern Club, where the Beatles played hundreds of times. It’s one of the most famous pubs in the UK. But even if you don’t want to visit the Cavern Club for the Beatles, it’s still a great night out. As is the string of pubs (mostly Irish pubs and bars) that line Mathew Street and the streets that stem off it.
7. Lark Lane
Lark Lane is a vibrant area popular with Liverpool’s student population. This is because you will find some great cheap beer options and student nights, meaning it won’t break the bank to have a good night out on the town. Lark Lane is located a few miles south of the city centre. You can reach it via a train from Liverpool Lime Street to St Michael’s station, or you can cycle there.
