With New York being the latest US state to enter lockdown mode since March 21st, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is urging all New Yorkers to stay at home. Cuomo asked workers in nonessential businesses across New York state to stay in, and has closed all restaurants and bars. What does the New York lockdown really mean though?
This will be an ever-changing time for New York’s 20 million residents. As the following photos of NYC’s empty streets, ghost-like roads and shut restaurants show, the Big Apple has never been so quiet.. There’s no cocktail hours, no Broadway – even the New York Stock Exchange trading floor has shut.
