Singapore Changi Airport is consistently voted as the world’s best airport, and it’s clear to see why. With four terminals, there’s so many things to do that you can easily spend 24 hours there without getting bored. Plus, there’s now the brand new ‘lifestyle’ section that connects all the terminals: Changi Jewel Airport.
Here’s your Singapore Changi Airport guide – the best things to see during a layover here.
This is where you’ll find the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, a sky garden, giant slides and more. Hands up who’s booking a layover in Singapore?!
Singapore Changi Airport Guide 2019
1. See the HSBC Rain Vortex (Jewel)
This is the world’s tallest indoor waterfall at 40 metres high. It’s beautiful by day (there’s a canopy walkway you can so you can see it from all angles), but at night it’s even better.
Every hour from 7.30pm – 12.30am the sheet of water becomes a screen for light projections.

2. Visit the Butterfly Garden (T3)
Marvel at over 1,000 tropical butterflies from as many as 40 species during the different seasons of the year. The world’s first butterfly garden in an airport is designed as a tropical butterfly habitat.
3. Have fun on the largest slide inside an airport! (T3)
Whizz down Singapore’s tallest slide and the world’s tallest slide in an airport! At 12m tall (or four storeys high), The Slide@T3 is easily the highlight of any adventure at Changi Airport.
For every S$10 spent at Changi Airport in a single, same-day receipt, you can redeem one ride on the slide.
4. Stroll through an enchanted garden (T2)
An interactive Enchanted Garden magically comes to life with sights and sounds. Motion sensors trigger sounds of nature and blooming flowers while fibre-optic and LED lighting, embedded in the undulating pathways, form a fascinating carpet of sparkling lights.
5. Bounce along Sky Nets (Jewel)
This giant net stretches on for 250 metres. At its highest point 8 metres above the Canopy Park, you’ll feel like you can reach the sky.
6. Take a dip in the rooftop swimming pool (T1)
Have a leisurely swim and watch planes take off from the runway at the same time! Located at Aerotel Airport Transit Hotel at Terminal 1, the pool also features a jacuzzi, poolside bar and shower facilities.
It’s $17 an hour, but so worth it.
7. Go see a movie (T2 & T3)
If you have time to spare while waiting for your flight, why not head to the movie theatres in Terminals 2 and 3? You’ll be able to enjoy the latest movies and different genres in comfort.
Screenings are available free-of-charge and both movie theatres are open 24 hours a day.
8. Shop at the charming Heritage Zone (T4)
Inspired by Peranakan shophouses that you’ll see around the city of Singapore, this shopping zone has familiar local and traditional brands. Perfect for some duty free airport shopping in Singapore Changi Airport.
9. See amazing art installations (everywhere!)
From glittering crystal ‘clouds’, kinetic rain and giant rice grains, there’s plenty of amazing art to see here. A highlight is A Million Times at Changi: both a kinetic sculpture and functioning clock. Its hands move from unpredictable and mechanical spinning to a series of perfectly synchronised designs and patterns.
10. Wander through a Mirror Maze (Jewel)
The Mirror Maze has a unique cover of greenery overhead, creating the illusion of endless branches. You’ll get lost in this fun and beautiful attraction, but it’s super enjoyable.
