Best Things to Eat in SydneyHow do these rankings work?
1. Pork Belly Sandwich at Mr Crackles
Mr Crackles was founded by two professional chefs with a passion for crispy skinned succulent meats, and oh-boy are we glad they came up with this place.
The pork belly takes three days to prepare, developing a super crispy and flavoursome crackling. You can’t go wrong the Crackles Classic of crisped-skinned slow roast, five spiced pork belly, served with Vietnamese salad in a roll.
2. Brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria
When visiting Sydney, checking out The Grounds of Alexandria is a must, regardless of whether you stop by for brunch, lunch, or a simple cup of coffee. A lush garden welcomes you to the ultra-trendy space where you’ll find everything from flower stalls and organic vegetables to undoubtedly one of the best brunches in Sydney. Steak and eggs, fruit-filled oats bowls, and other Instagrammable dishes are all standard and can be enjoyed amidst the greenery.
3. Seafood Platter at Flying Fish
Flying Fish has been a staple of Sydney’s fine dining scene for over 10 years, with a menu packed full of the very best ingredients from Australian and New Zealand waters. The beautiful Harbour views don’t hurt, either.
For the ultimate showcase of what’s good to eat here, order the seafood platter. Oysters, sashimi, charcoal roast scallops and more.
4. Steak at BLACK Bar & Grill
This is the place to come if you want to dress up for a fancy meal, or have celebrate something. This is fine dining at the highest possible level, with chefs and front of house staff who are the best in their respective fields.
Their signature dish is a 28 day dry-age Wagyu rib eye, which is monumentally tender and absolutely bursting with flavour. It’s then lightly smoked over a wood-fired grill for a rich flavour. You’ll be dreaming about that steak as you go to sleep.
5. Chicken Wings at Wings and Tins
This place does exactly as it says and serves up a huge selection of both wings and craft beers. The sauces are hot and the beers are cold; this is the sort of place that you wish there was one of them in every city
6. Pizza at Via Napoli
Owner Luigi brought his traditional pizza making experience from Naples all the way to sunny Sydney, and oh-boy are we glad he made the move. Pizzas at Via Napoli are baked in a wood-fired, domed oven at 485°C for no more than 60 to 90 seconds. Perfection.
7. Burgers at Mary’s BurgersÂ
You might get distracted by the wonderful interiors at Mary’s Burgers, but that’ll only last as long as it takes for the food to arrive. If you are feeling super hungry and want a challenge, try the triple stack. It’s juicy, full of flavour and oh-so delicious.
