Hotel Of The Day: Conrad Maldives Rangali Island

The world’s first underwater hotel recently opened in the Maldives, and it’s an absolute mind-bender. Wake up to tropical fish swimming above your bed in a two-story villa that’s set more than 16 feet below the Indian Ocean.

The villa is part of luxury hotel chain, The Conrad, and is a true bucket-list experience.

Its name is “Muraka,” which means “coral” in the Maldives’ local language Dhivehi.

Where exactly is Conrad Maldives Rangali Island?

Is ‘paradise’ a clear enough direction? Because that’s where this hotel is located. The resort, nestled in the South Ari Atoll, is close to 42 dive sites and in the perfect locale for seeking out Whale Sharks, Turtles and Manta Rays and shoals of Technicolor marine life.

What’s so special about this hotel?

THE MURAKA at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island is in a class of its own. The unique three bedroom villa is split over two levels – one above water, and one below.

The underwater level has a king-sized bedroom, underwater bathroom and living area. Upstairs, you’ll find the outer deck with an infinity pool, kitchen, a dining area and a gym.

So you’ll have sunset ocean views from every angle. The suite also comes with 24-hour butler service, so you won’t have to lift a finger.
