First off, the CN Tower is Canada’s most recognisable and celebrated icon. Not only is the CN Tower is an internationally renowned architectural triumph, an engineering Wonder of the Modern World, it’s also world-class entertainment and dining destination.

Basically, it’s a must see for anyone visiting Toronto.  Here’s 7 things you need to know if you’re in the city…

1. What’s so special about CN Tower?

Spectacular views include floor-to-ceiling panoramic Window Walls, world-famous Glass Floor, SkyPod and glass fronted elevators with glass floor panels.

There’s also super dining options, which include the award-winning 360 Restaurant.

Thrill seekers can do the EdgeWalk, the world’s highest ‘hands-free’ external walk, 356m/1168ft (116 stories) above the ground.

2. How do I get there?

The CN Tower is located in the heart of Downtown Toronto. Basically, just look for the Tower (it’s hard to miss) and head towards it.

Subway:  the station is Union Station. From there, the Tower is a short walk west along Front Street.

Bus: take the Route 121 Fort York – Esplanade and the bus will stop just outside.

Car: you’ll find plenty of parking all around the CN Tower. The closest lots are the south lot of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

3. How much will it cost?

General admission tickets for adults are $38 for the tower itself. You can purchase a $12 ticket to reach even greater heights in the CN Tower SkyPod.

For the EdgeWalk, tickets are $195 a full circle hands-free walk on a 1.5 m (5 ft) wide ledge encircling the top of the Tower’s main pod, 356m/1,168ft (116 storeys) above the ground.

4. How long will it take?

EdgeWalk runs for 1.5 hours, with the outdoor walk lasting approximately 30 minutes. You’ll get to the top in the elevator in only 58 seconds but feel free to take your time to walk around the edge.


5. When is the best time to go?

Most crowds start filling in at around 12pm, and weekends are always the busiest.
