Unless you’ve been living under a rock the last year or so, you’ll have seen at least one photo or video of Giraffe Manor pop up on your Instagram feed.
Incredible footage of pretty people people having breakfast with even prettier giraffes is so bizarre that it’s beautiful.
What is Giraffe Manor?
Giraffe Manor is a boutique Kenyan hotel in Nairobi. It’s become famous for its herd of resident Rothschild’s giraffe who visit the hotel, poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat.
The hotel is modelled on an old Scottish hunting lodge and doubles up as a giraffe sanctuary with a breeding programme that aims to reintroduce pairs of the giraffes back into the wild.
Giraffe Manor can be booked for the night or as part of a complete tailor-made safari with The Safari Collection.
Where is Giraffe Manor?
You’ll find it in the Langata suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. Giraffe Lodge is on twelve acres of private land within 140 acres of forest.
How much does it cost to stay at Giraffe Manor?
US$ 620 per adult sharing and US$ 400 per child sharing. These rates can change depending on the time of year but are an average price.
Many of the rooms in the hotel look out onto the gardens where the giraffes roam around, and some of the rooms even have balconies from which you can feed the giraffes.
Rooms are absolutely beautiful – with traditional Kenyan features and charming spiral staircases.
How big is the hotel?
There are 12 rooms which are set in 12 acres of land. There’s 10 giraffes living on the land (although they have a full centre for themselves next door). So, plenty of room for humans and giraffes!
Do you have to stay in the hotel to see the giraffes?
Nope! The centre offers you a much cheaper alternative of a day trip to visit the centre and feed the animals from raised platforms.
Giraffe Manor video:
Captured using a drone, this video shows just how friendly the giraffes are, how much space they have and just how interactive they are with the hotel.
Giraffe Manor on Instagram
It’s one of the most popular hotels in the world because of Instagram. People just can’t get enough of the animals eating directly from the plates of guests.

So… Is it worth the visit?
Eh, hello? Have you not been reading every paragraph where we say you get to have breakfast with giraffes. Of course it’s worth it. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If you’re visiting Kenya you’ll want to check out the most Instagrammable spots there.
I’ve been hearing a lot about Giraffe Manor so I’ve been debating whether I should include it in my accommodation list. Going through your post as definitely convinced me! It looks beautiful and amazing! To be so close to the giraffes like this would be an unforgettable experience. I’d like to give it a try at least once in my life. I can then tell amazing stories about it to my friends. Haha!
