1. FIRST Craft Beer & BBQ
In 2017, FIRST Craft Beer Co., Hungary’s first brewery and Taproom was founded by the Kurucz brothers who wanted their customers to enjoy beer in a place where staff can answer any and all beer-related questions and people can learn about brewing techniques.
There’s 19 taps, 200 bottles and a fresh IPA straight from the bar’s own brewery.
2. Krak’n Town
The backbone of the beer selection in this stylish bar is three kinds of their own beer (Krak’n Pils, Krak’n IPA and Krak’n Rubynk), with some of of the best small craft beers from local producers and Belgian and English specialties making up the rest of the menu.
There’s eight taps in the Saloon area and 15 in the Underground bar, so you won’t go thirsty here.
3. STart Craft Beer Bar
They have a huge selection of bottled craft beers that are from all over the world, with some real gems in the mix.
They also serve great food to go with the beers like sausages and burgers and have the sport on their TVs. Pretty much everything you could ever wish for in a bar, basically.
4. Élesztő
As well as having the first cask ale bar in central Europe, they even have their own brewing courses. You can clearly tell the second you walk in the door that this is a place run by craft beer lovers, for craft beer lovers.
Their restaurant is also top notch and they even have a “beer hotel”, where you can sleep as close to craft beer as you are ever likely yo get.
5. Jónás Craft Beer House
As well as some of the craft beer in Budapest, they pride themselves on all their drinks. That includes beers on rotation, proper coffee and awesome hot chocolate. They also have 100% organic fruit juices and hand crafted fruit syrup soft drinks. You won’t find any Coca Cola brands here!
Sitting on the terrace having a beer here in the sun is one of the great things to do in this city.
6. Neked Csak Dezső!
The craft beer is fantastic but it is really when combined with the food from their wonderful bistro that the real magic starts.
They have a huge selection of both bottles and beers on tap, that the super helpful staff will run through with you. The food is refined with some world-class cooking, but it is hard to look beyond the burger.
7. Csakajósör Kft.
A wonderfully welcoming bottle shop where they stock beers from all over the world. It is like walking into heaven for a lover of craft beer.
While many people get their beers to go, there are a handful of seats where you can sit and enjoy a glass among all the bottles. An absolute gem of a spot.
