1. Seljalandsfoss

This is a gorgeous waterfall that you can capture from multiple angles. It is 60 meters high with a foot path behind it at the bottom of the cliff, but with a thin cascade. For a truly unique shot you can actually sneak in behind the waterfall!

2. Skógafoss

The breath-taking view of Skogáfoss waterfall and its scenic surroundings and the snow-capped heights of two towering glaciers make it a popular attraction. If the sun is just right, you can see a vivid rainbow during the day, and often catch the Northern Lights at nighttime.

3. Goðafoss

You’ll find Goðafoss waterfall along the river Skjálfandafljót in north Iceland, the fourth largest river in the country. This is easily one of the prettiest waterfalls in Iceland, with a name that means either waterfall of the gods or waterfall of the ‘goði’ (priest/ chieftain).

4. Brúarfoss

This is a “hidden waterfall” in Iceland, that you reach by a 3km hike. It might be small, but its beauty fame comes from the magnificent shade of blue-coloured water in its rapids.

5. Gullfoss

This is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland and is part of the Golden Circle tour. ‘Gullfoss’ translates as the Golden Falls or the Golden Waterfall, and has a seriously impressive flow of water.

6. Hengifoss

Iceland’s second-highest waterfall, Hengifoss is particularly picturesque. There is an easy walking path from the highway to Hengifoss, it takes 40-60 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the waterfall. If the water flow is not so strong, you can even enter a shallow cave behind the waterfall.

7. Aldeyjarfoss

Aldeyjarfoss waterfall is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, and is in the river Skjalfandafljot. The waterfall is framed with long, black basaltic columns. It’s a must-see.
